Health Centre of Type II Illora (Granada) |
|
The topography of the site has conditioned much of the layout of the building. The project has been laid out in three pieces arranged at different heights which are follow the slope. The two lower modules have two floors like the rest of the adjoining buildings and the third that faces Professor Antonio Mollinedo Street which has two floors plus a basement. The location of the building within the urban planning of Illora, completely surrounded by terraced houses has led to propose a building that is perfectly adapted to its formal environment. The facade is similar to the adjacent buildings where each block of houses is interrupted by a patio (empty) between them, alternating in this way the white of the facades with green vegetation of these patios. In the same way the planned building, has three sections separated by patios visited with intermediate vegetation. These three sections are joined by an articulating element, which distributes the accesses to the various units in each building, as well as the different floors.Team: García de los Reyes Arquitectos Asociados

Proposal to construct a Sports Centre (as defined by the Sports Facilities Plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía) in a single phase. The adopted solution complies perfectly with the request and provides a main entrance on Federico García Lorca Avenue, as well as another entrance on the right side with disabled access via a ramp to the first level and a lift to the second level where the stands are located. On the rear wall there are two emergency exit doors one for the court and another for the public. This project responds to the needs identified by the promoter. The aim has been to channel the functional aspects of the project to satisfy in a simplified, clear and simple way the solution adopted for the distribution of the different facilities. The technical solution given to the building maintains the criteria of simplicity and clarity that have led to the goals mentioned above. The requirements have been met with the intended sobriety, adapted at certain times to the preferences and possibilities of the promoter, in technical, economic and formal aspects of the development of the project.Team: García de los Reyes Arquitectos Asociados

Due to the large difference in elevation between the different ends of the site, the building is organized in two floors with street access and a basement with access to the patio inside the plot. The main entrance to the building is from the garden area on the Carretera de la Redonda. On level 0, the main access we can find the high ceiling entrance hall, which gives access to the City Council offices, a first-aid room, toilets, and the Retirement Home, the latter having a direct entrance from the street. On this level there is also a bank that is accessed from the street and is independent from the rest of the building. On level -1, there is a warehouse and an exhibition hall, both of which have direct access to the patio at the end of the plot. On level +1, there are three classrooms distributed around the opening of the entrance hall's high ceiling. The building has been designed according to program needs defined by the developer. The architecture of the building has been conceived following the form and composition criteria of the surrounding architecture in that way, althougt having modern design, it can blend in without disrupting the balance and the proportions in the area.
